Door-Frame Motion Sensor Holder (With Optional Range Shield)
This model is a custom 3D-printed mount designed specifically to hold small PIR motion sensors such as the 809WZT and IH012-RT01 on top of a door frame. It provides a clean and secure installation without drilling, making it perfect for renters or anyone who wants a simple, tool-free setup.
The mount sits directly on the door trim and keeps the sensor angled downward so it reliably detects motion as someone passes through the doorway.
Two versions are included:
1. Standard Door-Frame Holder
- Compatible with 809WZT, IH012-RT01, and similar compact PIR sensors.
- Holds the sensor firmly in place while maintaining optimal detection angle.
- No screws or adhesives required — the geometry keeps it stable.
2. Holder With Range-Limiting Shield
- Includes a curved “view blocker” that restricts the sensor’s field of vision.
- Prevents detection from far away rooms or hallways.
- Ideal for automations that should only trigger when someone enters the doorway, not when someone moves in another room.
