Flashcard Box

Here you get a flashcard box based on the forgetting curve It states that we forget the most directly after learning at the beginning That's why many repetitions are needed at first, and then longer intervals later This is exactly how the box is designed: inside there are 5 compartments that get progressively larger from front to back

How the learning system works

1. Create flashcards
   A short, concise question goes on the front, and the answer on the back It's ideal to break down the learning material into the smallest possible units beforehand

    

2. Compartment 1 – Entry
   New cards go into Compartment 1
   • Learning takes place there daily, at the earliest one day after writing on them
   • You read the question, recite the answer to yourself, and check it on the back
   • Correct? The card moves to Compartment 2, behind the existing cards

   • Incorrect? The card stays in Compartment 1
     If Compartment 1 becomes about half empty, new cards can be added

      

3. Compartment 2 – first extension of intervals
   Once Compartment 2 is full, additional learning takes place from it Take only a finger-width stack at a time until all cards have been dealt with
   • Correctly answered cards move to Compartment 3, behind the existing cards

   • Incorrect answers go back to Compartment 1
     Important: Cards that have just moved from Compartment 1 to Compartment 2 in the same learning unit are not yet learned from Compartment 2 in this round You only learn cards that were already in the compartment when it became full

      

4. Compartments 3 to 5 – increasing learning intervals
   You proceed the same way with the other compartments:
   • Correctly answered cards each move one compartment further or are sorted out into Compartment 5

   • Incorrectly answered cards always go back to Compartment 1

      

This automatically creates increasing intervals between repetitions – entirely in the spirit of counteracting the forgetting curve

Formats & Dimensions

• The smaller bottom part is designed for DIN A8 landscape flashcards
• The larger bottom part fits DIN A7 portrait flashcards

• The lid fits both bottom parts

   

Labels & Magnetic Holder

Labels can be exchanged in the lid:

• At the front of the lid, there is a recess for the labels
• There are two holes where round 8×2 mm magnets can be glued in
• The labels have the same recesses to also glue in magnets
• This way, you can attach the labels magnetically to the box

Be sure to pay attention to the correct polarity of the magnets – otherwise the box and labels will repel each other I have prepared some example labels, but you can customize the inscription to your needs

Assembly

• First, glue the magnets into the lid and labels
• Place the bottom part of the box on a table
• Place the lid so that it is flush with the front
• Now the two parts of the hinge lie exactly on top of each other

• With gentle, even pressure on the lid, both parts click into each other

   

Opening and Closing

The lid is latched into the front of the bottom part when the box is closed:

• To open, place your thumb on the front of the lid, grip under the handle with your other fingers, and slowly pull the handle diagonally upwards
• To close, perform the same movement in reverse until the lid latches again

The latching mechanism ensures that the box does not accidentally open during transport, and you don't have to pick up all the cards from the floor
