Magical Staff for Wizards and Mages

A magical staff for wizards and mages.  The great thing about this print is you can make the staff different sizes, by adding or removing middle rods.  Create a long staff by using five middle rods, or skip the middle rod entirely and create a short scepter.

The inner rods are for strength and won't be visible, so they're a great way to get rid of extra filament.

Print and Assembly

Assembly is really easy.  After printing, just glue the separate pieces together.

To strengthen this print, there is an inner rod to connect the outside rods.  I recommend printing a strong inner rod to help hold this together.  And print the inner rods flat and the outer rods upright.  This will result in horizontal layers externally and vertical layers internally to help prevent breaking at a layer line.

It's pretty straightforward to assemble this, as most things only go in one way.  There is a middle rod and you can print multiple of these to have a longer wizard staff.

You'll also need to print multiple inner rods to connect the outer rods.  If you use the bottom rod, one middle rod, and one top rod, then you'll need two inner rods to connect those three.  For each additional middle rod you add, you'll need an additional inner rod.

I wanted the inner rods to be mostly a snug fit, but I did make them slightly smaller so they can fit in with some ease.  You may wish to scale the inner rod bigger or smaller to get a good balance between a tight fit and easy insertion.

The top part of the staff will need supports.  Otherwise, most of these models shouldn't need supports.

Please consider this a prop and do not be heavy handed with it.  If you just print with PLA with little infill and glue, it will probably break apart after swinging it around and hitting things with it.
