Asuka Langley Soryu—EVA's "Tsundere Queen," with a fiery 157cm figure + golden twin tails, her signature red plugsuit, and an aura of "I'm the strongest!" This German-Japanese hybrid earned two doctorates at just 14 years old, but a childhood trauma (her mother's suicide) turned her into a textbook tsundere, tough on the outside, soft on the inside. She constantly teases Shinji with "Baka Shinji" and gets furiously jealous of Rei Ayanami ("Doll girl!"), but her broken cry of "Don't look at me!" in "The End of Evangelion" (Air/Magokoro wo, Kimi ni) is iconic. Famous scenes include: going berserk at 400% sync rate to dismantle an Angel, the desperate moment she was devoured by mass-produced Evas, and in "Thrice Upon a Time" (Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time), finally honestly exclaiming "I used to like you" (Shinji: Huh??). Now she lives as a free-spirited leader in the new world; Asuka truly is the real protagonist of EVA forever! (Hands on hips)
