I designed and 3D printed a pet waste collector in PETG;

The tool can be used with or without an automatic reclosing system.

The automatic closing can be achieved using two different methods (for those interested).

METHOD 1:

for those with good manual dexterity, the model has been designed with a provision for housing two springs to be connected to the two holes indicated below with blue circles:

After securing the springs to the holes, they must be connected to the central post below, passing through the head, as clarified in the photo below:

The springs can be self-made using spring steel of adequate size.

METHOD 2:

a second, simpler method, though less aesthetic, utilizes two elastic bands placed between the handle and the body, passing through two prepared holes (present on the finished project, but not yet created in the representative photos uploaded) and secured with two small hooks.

P.S. AFTER MOUNTING THE KNOB ON THE STRUCTURE (TO BE DONE AS THE LAST STEP), ROTATE THE KNOB LIKE AN “ACCELERATOR” TO SECURE THE LOCKING MECHANISM, WITHOUT FORCING IT EXCESSIVELY TO AVOID BREAKING THE HOUSINGS.

THE PUSH HEAD IS FIXED TO THE ROD USING A SMALL PIN, BUT FOR SAFETY, A DROP OF GLUE IS RECOMMENDED TO PREVENT IT FROM SLIPPING DURING USE.
