AYN Thor Slim Grip
Print Profile(3)

Description
Yea sure, there are already a million of them – but this one's mine, and I like it. Although I am sensitive to criticism so insult lightly. Or not. Nobody tells you what to do.
Oh look it's yet another grip for the AYN Thor, what a wonderful day. Anyways, the multiple models online weren't really meeting my expectations which mainly revolved around the portability of the device
Thinness: So this grip has only 1.2mm wall thickeness, which is basically 3 x 0.4mm nozzle (haven't tried with others)
Grip Size: The grips extend ~6mm (to be exact, i think its like 5+1.2mm) past the base of the case, and does not increase the height past the triggers
Aesthetic: This one's subjective but I like it better when the port holes are aligned and not just gigantic holes. My model my rules.
And that was basically the main stuff. I just wanted a slim grip that slightly improves the ergonomics of the AYN Thor without sacrificing on the portability of the device (for travelling or whatnot).
Is this gonna be the best? Probably not. Is it only like 28g of material and worth a try? Probably yes. Do I care whether you print this or not? actually yes i do i need validation for the work that I put in
Dimensions
Case has a 0.2mm tolerance from my measurements (vernier calipers are kinda tough to use), which should allow a snug fit. The walls are 1.2mm thick so its about 3 perimeters with a 0.4 nozzle (quick maths)
Printing Settings
I'm using a 0.4mm stainless steel nozzle and printing with PLA+. Honestly other materials like PETG and TPU (update: thanks to the comments, we find out that TPU absolutely DOES NOT WORK but PETG is ok), should work, although don't quote me if I'm wrong. Printing on lower layer heights helps with the ‘jaggedness’ of the front curves, as printing it port-side down creates a lil' bit of rough edges on the fillet – I recommend maybe ≤0.12mm, and even so sanding it down definitely helps a lot more. Printing outer/inner seems to work better than inner/outer, although I do change a bunch of settings a lot everytime for fun so once again, not an expert. You shouldn't need supports, although do make sure your plate is clean as the print is pretty tall and has a smaller base footprint so it may fall and mess everything up. I heard it happened to some guy, who woke up to a spool of mess at his printer and who did not learn his lesson and tried printing again but forgot to monitor and had another mess a few hours later. Apparently.
Print Profiles
I included a few print profiles which just have different layer heights. I feel like the smaller the better, but also it takes longer so like honestly does it even matter if you have sandpaper? Who knows, maybe your time is more valuable than mine.
Usage
Print it, put it on. If it works for you, great! If it isn't good, take it off and throw it away. I don't actually know what to do with all my failed / unwanted 3D prints so they're just taking up space in a box because it feels like plastic waste to throw them but I'm never gonna use them so like.. can somebody tell me what they do.
Future
Idk I feel like I kinda want a plate for the top now right? coz the bottom now sticks out by 1.2+1.2mm which is a visible amount, and that kinda irks me. ah well.
