Hey there!

Here's something I made for myself to complement gaming on iPad. I have been gaming with an XBox Controller since a long while, but I have to admit this is something else in terms of comfort. Finally I can game with an actual handheld experience without using an iPad stand.

My goal was to create an easily reversible solution to the extension, while having a strong and balanced structure. This is why I made a couple dozen prototypes, to achieve good dimensions and strength. If you don't want to use it anymore and go back to its factory functions, simply unscrew and take it off.

You might find other, simpler solutions to hold it in place, however this one will stay there. X2S has very strong springs, and even if you technically don't need any extender in between, with a wrong move it would snap back into place, and potentially damage itself or hurt you. This is why my design is fully covered and assembled with screws. You can toss it in your backpack and take it with you when it's assembled. 

Assembly

It's very straightforward. I included a triangle marker on each part, so you can align all the parts. They might appear symmetrical but they are not.

1. Carefully remove the right part of the controller out of the case, gently pulling it outwards after the limiter. You will not break it, but I would still advise caution. Flexing the bottom of the left side might help you release the right end easier.
2. Now grab the Body part, and roughly bring it under the right slider. This way, you can push it easier.
3. After you have enough clearance, insert the Body into the slot where you took the right slider out. It will snap in place.
4. If everything aligned correctly, bottom curvature should feel seamless. You can proceed with screwing it in.
5. Use 6x M2x6 mm screws. 
6. Technically you can glue it in place and don't use screws at all, but I would trust screws more, as the springs are very strong.
7. Finally, you can glue the TPU Pad on the opening, again, aligning the triangles would help.

Important

All though the extension dimensions should very well cover an iPad 13", I haven't had the chance to test it myself. Please let me know if you have any issues.

TPU Pad is not a must have. If you would like to, you can simply print it in a different material and use it as a face plate. You can create 3-way color schemes.
