Ford Field and Comerica Park together form the vibrant heart of the sports district in Downtown Detroit, Michigan, located just a few meters from each other
Ford Field (opened 2002) is the covered home of the Detroit Lions (NFL). Architecturally unique is the integration of a historic 1920s warehouse (Hudson's Warehouse) into the south side of the stadium, housing suites and lounges and preserving Detroit's industrial charm. Right next door is Comerica Park (opened 2000), the open-air stadium of the Detroit Tigers (MLB). It is famous for its family-friendly atmosphere, the giant tiger statues at the main entrance, as well as a Ferris wheel and a carousel inside the stadium. Together, these two structures symbolize the revitalization of downtown Detroit
