Stanley-style Laser Engraving Lathe Adapter
Print Profile(1)

Bill of Materials
Description
This project is an adapter for rotary chucks/lathes used in laser engraving machines.
It was developed to offer greater stability and alignment when working with cylindrical objects, such as:
- Thermal cups (including Stanley-style)
- Mate cups
- Cylindrical or conical mugs
The design includes a curved base that accommodates different diameters and a raised support with a central hole for fitting onto shafts or pins of various rotary chucks, as well as a recess for inserting a neodymium magnet to help secure the piece on the chuck.
Ideal for those who perform custom engravings and need to ensure centralization and repeatability in the process.
Key Features
- Compatible with most rotary chucks/attachments used in laser engravers.
- Wide base for greater stability.
- Smooth geometry for support-free printing.
- Adapted for "Stanley-like" shaped containers.
- Easy to set up and install.
Recommended Materials
- PLA+ – easy to print and rigid
- PETG – better thermal resistance
- ABS/ASA – when exposed to heat or heavy professional use
For normal use, PLA+ is sufficient.
Usage / Assembly Instructions
- Position the adapter directly on the rotary chuck.
- Fit the central hole onto your equipment's shaft/pin/bearing.
- Adjust the distance of the second support according to the object's size.
- Place the cup, mate cup, or mug in the adapter.
- Test the rotation to ensure the object is centered.
- Perform the engraving normally.
