Description

🌀 Modular Bend Piece for DN200 KG Pipe – 30° Curve (CO₂ Laser Exhaust System)

This model is inspired by a DN200 KG pipe bend with a 30° angle, designed for use in CO₂ laser exhaust systems. Large curved pipe sections in this size are often expensive and hard to source, making this a practical and cost-effective alternative for DIY setups.


🔧 Features:

✅ Compatibility: Fits standard DN200 KG pipes. Can be mounted directly or combined with multiple bend pieces.

🧩 Modular Design: Multiple segments can be nested – for example, using 3×30° pieces to form a smooth 90° curve that maintains optimal airflow with minimal loss.

🫧 Flexible Seal: The sealing edge is intentionally more flexible, allowing for easier installation and tolerance compensation.

⚠️ Stability Note: This model is not as rigid or durable as real KG pipes. For load-bearing or mechanically stressed applications, please use genuine KG pipe components.


🧵 Sealing Instructions:

To ensure airtight connections between segments, a sealing strip is required. (sealing strip 9x6mm D-version)
🟢 Use the built-in adhesive backing, and optionally reinforce with superglue for extra hold.
✂️ Cut the strip slightly longer than needed, glue it in place, and only trim the final centimeters after the rest is securely installed. This ensures a clean and tight seal at the end.


🌬️ Airflow Consideration:

Using 30° bends may help reduce airflow resistance compared to steeper angles like 45°.
📏 The difference has not been measured, but I chose 30° segments to be on the safe side.
🧠 It may not always be necessary, but smoother curves generally support better flow.

📏 Note on Straight Sections:

For straight pipe sections, I use real KG pipes.

🧱 Printing them in 3D offers little cost advantage and requires significantly more effort compared to buying KG pipes.
