🧅 Onibox — Onion-Shaped Storage Container

A compact onion-shaped storage box with smooth organic geometry inspired by the natural form of an onion bulb.

The model consists of three parts:

• a rounded outer shell with a stylized onion-tip top,
• a matching bottom tray,
• an optional inner dish.

Designed for storing half an onion or other small food items in the fridge.
The model prints with minimal supports.

💡 Printing suggestions

The outer shell can be printed in matte white PLA or any food-safe filament to emphasize the clean, organic look.

The inner dish includes an ironing option that can be disabled to speed up printing.

The container can also be used without the inner dish if desired.

👉 Printing tip

The top sprout of the lid can be printed in green filament using AMS.
If you don’t have an AMS unit, you can:

• pause the print and swap filament manually, or
• use the additional split-lid file included with the model (lid printed in two separate colors).

For the split-lid version, it is recommended not to alter layer height settings during the print.
If variable layer height is used, ensure that the threading areas are printed at 0.08 mm layer height.

Note: the split-lid variant has not been test-printed yet, but it should work without issues.

⚠ Size note

The inner dish has an approximate 9 cm diameter.
If your onions are larger, please scale the model up before printing.

The provided printing profile uses a 0.08 mm layer height for maximum surface quality.
For faster printing, you may choose a thicker layer height.

The model is simple to print, functional, and makes a pleasant addition to any kitchen.
