Hello everyone!
If you want your aquarium or terrarium to have a truly "imperial" look, this is the piece. I present to you the Side Nave of the Basilica.
Inspired by the immense Roman halls of justice (like Maxentius's), this model features three large barrel vaults with a coffered ceiling. But the story here is in the detail: the passage of time has caused the central vault to collapse, leaving a huge fragment of the curved roof lying on the floor.
Why does this piece structure your entire landscape?
- 🐟 The Swimming "Highway": With three large arches connected and open at the back (thanks to the collapses), it creates an incredible corridor. Fish can enter through one arch, cross behind, and exit through another, giving them plenty of play and exercise.
- 🧱 The Brick Detail (Opus Testaceum): If you look closely at the pillars, I have sculpted areas where the "plaster" has fallen away, revealing the Roman bricks underneath. This rough texture is perfect for moses to grip naturally, differentiating between smooth stone and old brick.
- 🛌 The Central "Cradle": The piece of fallen roof in the middle arch is shaped like a "U" or cradle. It's a refuge protected from the current but open at the top, ideal for bottom-dwelling fish (Corydoras, Ancistrus) to rest, or for turtles to tuck themselves in there to sleep.
- 🖼️ Depth: Being a structure with "depth" (it's a hall, not a flat wall), it creates an immediate sense of depth. If you look through the arches, the aquarium appears much larger than it is.
Technical Details:
- 📂 Format: High-resolution STL.
- 📐 Dimensions: It's a wide piece, ideal for the background or midground of large tanks.
- 🏗️ Realism: The coffers (small ceiling squares) have different levels of wear, none are identical.
