SETI + Space Agencies Expansion Boardgame Insert

This is an Insert for the boardgame SETI including its expansion Space Agencies from CGE.

All content fits into the base game box. 

The main profile does not have trays for solo components. If you wish to keep solo components in the main box, you can print the optional solo trays from the variants profile. This will create a slight lid lift.

About the design:

• Language neutral
• Prominently showcases the amazing card art.
• Compatible with premium sleeves of up to 100 microns. Thicker sleeves will probably not fit. If you use thinner sleeves or no sleeves at all, I recommend using the alien trays in the variants profile that have a wall to avoid cards falling out.
• Supports vertical storage.
• Compatible with A1 Mini. Use the organizations tray in the variants profile.
• Optional solo components tray in the variants profile to store everything in one box. 
• If no solo tray is used, there is minimal to no lid lift (only about 2.5mm because of rulebooks).
• With Solo tray, there is a lid lift of about 7mm.
• Tested for PLA on P1S 0.4 nozzle and 0.2mm layer height.
• Prepared for optional multi color print with AMS. All pictures on the trays are modeled, not painted. They are exactly 0.8mm (4 layers) deep. So if you are performing single color printing, you can turn them into negatives in the slicer to get an embossed effect.
• Some trays need support. Settings for support is prepared for each individual part.

Main profile:

• 1x Cards tray - Holds all main deck cards in the game and can go directly on table during play for card draw
• 8x Alien trays - Holds all alien cards and tokens (7x 2 piece trays with slide and click mechanism + 1x Arkhos cards only tray). Includes dots on the bottom side to help sort the trays in 2 equally high stacks when putting everything back in the box. Please be aware that one of the alien card trays is slightly bigger than the others and hold 15 cards instead of 10 (Exertians).
• 4x Player trays - Holds all player pieces and starting card of base game with slide and click mechanism. Frame lid can be stored by sliding it on the underside of tray during gameplay.
• 2x Resource trays - Holds credit, energy and data tokens. Lid fits under tray during gameplay. Also fits optional energy & credit token upgrades here.
• 3x Technology trays + 1x Tray holder - Holds all tech tiles and two-point tiles on top. Small trays go directly on the board.
• 1x Signal token tray - Holds signal tokens of expansion. Fits inside the setup tray. Round screw lid can fit under tray during gameplay or be used as second tray for half of the tokens.
• 1x Setup tray - Holds setup pieces (sun, rotation tokens, starting player marker and gold scoring tiles) and signal tokens tray.  Stays in the box during gameplay. Compatible with custom rotation tokens like this excellent model from JohnRocks. The total combined height of the rotation markers must not exceed 12.4mm, and their diameter must not exceed 31mm. Slot for sun also fits most led holder models like this one from Max_Headroom.
• 1x Quick Start Cards Tray - Holds all the quick start cards.
• 1x Organizations tray - Holds all organization cards and tokens. Stays in the box during gameplay.
• 1x Solar tray - Holds the solar and Glyphids boards. Helps organize box since the additional expansion content demands a more complicated board arrangement to make everything fit properly.

Upgrade pack profile:

• 1x Cards tray - Bigger to hold additional expansion cards.
• 7x Alien token trays  - Thinner than before but still compatible with the standard alien card trays from the base game insert. Includes dots on the bottom side to help sort the trays in 2 equally high stacks when putting everything back in the box.
• 1x Arkhos cards tray - For the Arkhos cards.
• 1x Exertian cards tray - Slightly shorter than in base game insert.
• 2x Standard alien cards tray - For Glyphids and Amoeba cards.
• 1x Signal Token Tray - Holds Signal tokens of expansion. Fits inside the setup tray. Round screw lid can fit under tray during gameplay or be used as second tray for half of the tokens.
• 1x Setup Tray - Smaller than in base game insert. Fits new signal tokens tray.
• 1x Quick Start Cards Tray - Holds all the quick start cards.
• 1x Organizations Tray - Replaces solo tray of the base game insert. 
• 1x Solar Tray - Holds the solar and Glyphids boards. Helps organize box since the additional expansion content demands a more complicated board arrangement to make everything fit properly.

Variants profile:

• 7x Alien trays with reverse slide - Inverts the sliding mechanism of the main model and adds a wall to avoid cards sliding out. I recommend using these if you use sleeves thinner than 100micron, no sleeves at all or just prefer the safety of cards not being able to slide out. Slightly harder to open because thumb cannot press against the upper card tray since there is a wall there. Please be aware that one of the alien card trays is slightly bigger than the others and hold 15 cards instead of 10 (Exertians).
• 1x Solo cards tray + 1x Solo tokens tray - This allows everything to be stores in one box. Fits where the sector boards would normally go besides the solar tray. Sector boards go on the top of all board in 2 groups adding about 4,5mm of additional lid lift.
• 1x Organizations tray for A1 Mini - Cuts the organizations board into 2 pieces so it can be printed on the A1 mini.

Updates:

27.11.2025: Variants V1.1 - Updated solo token tray to include pictures of the different components. This should help organize the tiles properly.

28.11.2025: Main V1.01, Upgrade Pack V1.01, Variants V1.12 - Added Brim to Exertian and Variant card holders to avoid it falling over during printing. Corrected the amount of standard alien card trays with reverse slide in the Variants from 4 to 6.

06.01.2026: Variants V1.13 - I included the quick start cards tray. This is exactly the same tray as in the main profile but this way the variants plate for the alien trays is interchangeable with the plate from the main profile.

15.02.2026: Main V1.15, Variants V1.15, Upgrade Pack V1.15 - Added extra support to alien card trays to improve print stability.
