Stanley FatMax TLM 100 Outside Corner Aid (back)
Print Profile(2)

Description
Are you a DIY-er, novice or even quite handy, who has the TLM 100 but wishes there was some fold-out leg or edge on the tool to hold it properly to an outside corner of a wall?
Measuring from an outside corner of a wall to an inside corner can be hit-or-miss with the TLM 100. Lining up the bottom of the unit to be completely in line with the edge of the outside corner is done by eyeballing it.
Do you have problems holding your laser measure still, keeping it level, and pressing its buttons all of which can affect accurate measurements, especially over longer diistances?
Well I sure do due to very limited movement ability in one of my wrists.
A very basic solution:
This is the first of two models for the Stanley FatMax TLM 100. As a mild DIY-er, I didn't want to dump a lot of money on a laser distance measure that comes with a folding toe-end or folding edge guide. Those all seemed to come with a lot of functions that, while necessary for a handy DIY-er or pro, I would never need or use.
This, and the separate but related model (TLM 100 on side version: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2037929-stanley-fatmax-tlm-100-outside-corner-aid-side#profileId-2198352), is super simple. I'm certain there are a whole lot of experienced creators who could do better or nicer; yet I didn't find any models useful for me.
This “Outside Corner Aid (back)” is meant to snugly hold the TLM 100 in a lying-down position - on its back and on the battery compartment - and to the wall you need to measure. The other end goes against the other wall which makes up the outside corner. The wall corner is pressed into the inner corner of the Aid. There is also lip that is just big enough to hold a mini bubble level. The lying-down position is useful for taking measurements that are lower than waist-height….less bending for those who may also have back/spine issues.
Looking perpendicular to the corner, there is an Aid to measure from the outside corner to the wall towards the right, and an Aid to measure from the outside corner to the wall towards the left.
If you print both, the two units can stack into each other to use less storage space.
