Description

***Scale model to 96% for a better fit.

This is a remix of the old adafruit design that was meant to be hung from a rack. I changed the latching tab to have a long front chamfer and a hooked rear side to allow the charger handle to grasp onto it more easily and more firmly (this can be seen highlighted red in the side cutaway pic). I also rounded the blade edge of the front of the holder and made a dovetail mounting base so that this can be mounted with screws instead of being hung from a rack. Lastly, I removed the lightning bolt design, and put Tesla-themed “Tesla Dock” text on the front.

Boost Me (for free)

Hey, friends! If you’re into low-key, functional designs (and a solid dose of ‘almost good’ modeling), consider giving me a boost on MakerWorld. I don’t post often, but when I do, I try to make it worth your while. Thanks for cheering on a function-first designer! 🔧😁

nice print, petg/x1c. will update if there's any issues using it with the charger. but quality wise looks 👍 update: not the best. the charger didn't want to stay hooked inside the hole. still looks cool tho.

I have the exact same issue. Great print but doesn't hold

ya sucks. I might remix something or make a different one once I have some time. using this one for the time being and just looping the cable around the dock

You can scale it down to hold better if you like, I like having the holder just barely holding on as it makes it super easy to grab, and it doesn't fall out. If you prefer it tight and more difficult to remove, you can scale the model accordingly.

Exactly what I was looking for to avoid using the side dock on my wall connector (too difficult to wedge in there since it's recessed).

Decent print when scaled down to 96%. I had to download the STL and modify the base to accommodate for bigger screw holes/head since I was using tapcons to hold it in my brick wall. I would make the base slightly longer and have more space between the hole as when I drilled the screw in place the plastic snapped a bit. Either that or print it in another orientation to help solidify it more. Anyway, the gun fits ok with a bit of wiggle room but not sure how long it's going to last.

Great print and a great fit when you follow the instructions to size it down. It feels just like docking a super charger plug at 96%. It’s just odd that you have to size it down in the first place. I’m still boosting though because it’s the most aesthetically pleasing one I’ve been able to find so far!! Great work!

the print came out great but I found the fit to be very loose.

printed in petg on my A1 mini and it did great! I did print it at 97% scale and the handle fits very snuggly and has yet to fall out on its own
