Multicolor five point star fidget

Five point star fidget with up to eight separate colors. Spend endless hours mesmerized by this life-affirming fidget. It's a visual, tactile, and auditory delight. 
 

To print successfully go to filament … → Edit → Setting Overrides → Travel Distance Threshold → 0mm

This prints in place with single line 0.42mm thick walls. The single line thick isn't great for adhesion: I advise watching the first three layers, and if they print without a line lifting, the rest of the print should be clean.

The model is divided into 8 colorable parts. Vertically it's divided into:

• bottom: the bottom two layers
• bottom middle: from layer three to the halfway point
• top middle: from the halfway point to layer three from the top
• top: the top two layers

Horizontally it's divided into even and odd rings, ie for alternating color rings.

Printing with multiple colors creates a lot of extra waste. Relative waste is reduced if you print a lot of copies at once (and watch to skip any parts that are failing). On an H2D, two color prints can add minimal waste, especially for example by setting only the bottom two layers to the second color. With a nice shimmering PLA, single color prints also look great.
