Description

This 3D-printed Split House is a playful and hands-on tool for teaching young children about number bonds/splits and basic addition.
The front façade of the house is printed as one solid piece for strength and durability, making it perfect for classroom use.

Children drop the cubes into the chimney, and the cubes roll down inside the house and exit through two separate openings at the bottom. This allows students to visually explore how one number can be split into two parts.
For example, dropping 10 cubes into the chimney helps them discover combinations like 4 + 6, 7 + 3, etc., depending on how the cubes divide themselves.

Included in the model:

  • A solid front façade
  • A back section that forms the internal slide/tunnel
  • A chimney inlet
  • A set of cubes sized to move smoothly through the internal channels

This model turns number-bond practice into a fun, interactive activity that supports tactile learning and mathematical understanding.

Recommended print settings:

  • Material: PLA
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Infill: 15–20%
  • Supports: Not required
  • Glue recommended for attaching the front façade
