Tuomaanristi (Thomas Cross) Christmas ornament
Print Profile(3)

Description
Tuomaanristi (Thomas Cross) is a traditional Finnish Christmas ornament typically placed on a table or windowsill during the darkest time of the year. Its symmetrical, star-like form symbolizes protection and the return of light, with roots in pre-Christian folk traditions tied to the winter solstice. The ornament later became connected to St. Thomas’s Day (December 21st), marking the transition into the Christmas season.
This 3D-printed version offers a modern interpretation of a centuries-old Finnish symbol of hope and renewal.
Scaling the model is not recommended (at least down scaling), because the clearances are scaled too and the parts possibly won't fit together anymore. There are three print profiles with pre-scaled versions of the model with properly adjusted clearances: 1x (16,5 x 11cm), 1.5x (22.5 x 16.5cm) and 2x (33x22cm). The 2x scaled requires build plate with minimum size of 256x256mm.
Assembly:
Simply insert the cross to the hole of the base. The cross should snug into the hole tightly. Please contact me if the clearance is too tight. I can do a model with increased clearance.
The models in the picture are printed with Bambu Lab PLA Basic Jade White and Bambu Lab PLA Wood Classic Birch.
