Gravity Reset Index Mechanism

Bill of Materials
Description
This mechanism advances in three steps and then resets itself. The driver rotates and uses an indexing pin to push the second wheel one position at a time. A ratchet locks each step, and its tooth is held down by a small weight that keeps it engaged using gravity. Two reset pins lift the ratchet tooth, so the wheel is no longer locked. Since one side of the wheel is heavier, it naturally rotates back to the starting point. Nothing is pulling it back. Both the ratchet and the reset motion work entirely with gravity and mass balance.
This mechanism was inspired by this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFKDmyg1T2U&list=PL0gtSqNmiPVwPwrJ8SFAs0Bx5Cd7eSA0w&index=5
from the YouTube channel karakurist which showcases beautiful and clever karakuri mechanisms.
