The USS Virginia (SSN-774) is a nuclear-powered fast attack submarine, capable of launching both cruise missiles and torpedoes. It can reach speeds of up to 25 knots and dive to depths of 800 feet (244 meters). Launched on August 16, 2003, it was the first submarine of the Virginia-class. Over the years, it has undergone several modifications, with upgrades continuing through the Block IV configuration, improving its performance and capabilities.
