Description

This adapter is designed for filament spools with a large central hole specifically those with an inner diameter of 56 mm allowing them to fit securely onto the Snapmaker U1 spool holder.
It ensures a stable and smooth rotation even with wider spools that normally would not be compatible.

The adapter supports spools up to 86 mm in inner diameter.
My personal spools are 75 mm, and with this adapter they now attach perfectly and stay firmly in place during printing.

This print is especially useful if you use third-party filament brands whose spool centers exceed the standard Snapmaker dimension. The design guarantees easy mounting, reliable grip, and seamless compatibility with the U1 enclosure’s spool system.

Version 2 – Updated Design

This is Version 2 of the spool adapter.
The design has been improved by reducing the spool holder thread to only 3 turns, making the spool much faster and easier to attach and remove.

This update significantly improves usability while still ensuring a secure and stable lock during printing.
The adapter continues to provide a perfect fit for large-center filament spools and smooth rotation on the Snapmaker U1 spool holder.

Version 3 – Improved Grip Design

Version 3 introduces small grip notches around the base of the adapter to make tightening and loosening it much easier.

These recessed areas provide better finger grip when screwing the adapter onto the Snapmaker U1 spool holder, improving usability without changing the core functionality of the design.

This update was made to make installation more comfortable and practical, especially when handling the adapter frequently.
