Description
Vikavolt #738
"It produces electricity via an electrical organ in its abdomen. It overwhelms bird Pokémon with shocking beams of electrical energy." ~Moon Version Pokedex entry
Please read the support removal note at the bottom before printing
Vikavolt's got a lot of moving parts. This model boasts powerful 100mm jaws that clamp together when the tab on the bottom is pushed back. The abdomen is segmented and can curl forward. The wing covers open and hold their position, exposing a slot to add wings for "flight mode". And of course the legs are flexi (because everyone loves flexis). That's a lot of movement for only 110g filament! But the best part is this model is printable without an AMS! The pieces are printed on separate plates by color and can be glued together (assembly instructions included). If you're ok with some purging though, I've added a few options for multi-color printing to save on assembly time (details listed in each individual print profile).
Materials:
The model uses a spring (5 mm ID X 0.4mm thick X 20mm length) to return the jaws to the resting position and while it's not necessary for this print to work (you can always slide the tab back forward to open the jaws) I highly recommend it. As for the filament, I learned a when test printing this thing. regular PLA or PLA+ works the best. The PLA Silk (silver) I used for the shiny looked really nice, but it was more difficult to fully clear all the support material out of the gear cavity, causing friction between the jaws and the body which caused the jaws to stick instead of moving freely. Since the glow-in-the-dark PLA was only used on cosmetic non-mechanical parts it didn't negatively impact movement, but be advised that luminous filaments are course and sometimes cause issues the AMS to experience errors. For the translucent wing piece, I used translucent PETG and followed Bambu Wiki's guidance on how to maximize clarity. Unfortunately, MakerWorld doesn't allow custom filament types in uploaded print profiles so I will create a separate print profile for a PETG translucent wing and provide a link to their recommendations so users can create their own custom filament type.
Support Removal Note:
There is support material under the wing hinge, make sure to remove it before closing the wing or the wing hinge could break. When closing the wings for the first time, firmly press the reinforced connection between the hinge and the wing between your thumb and forefinger and gently rotate.

All print profiles will default to the standard color scheme but shiny and custom variants can be printed by changing the filament colors used:
Standard color scheme filament order:
1.Navy Blue
2.Yellow
3.Orange
4.White
5.Black
Shiny color scheme filament order:
1.Silver
2.Neon Green
3. Dark Red
4.White
5.Black
Happy printing!
