Description

Introducing a Gamecube Faceplate for the Valve Steam Machine. Affectionately called the “Gabecube”, relive your childhood memories in vivid color. Well, more vivid than the faceplate that will come with your Valve Machine.

- Print the frame

- Pick and print the controller port style

- Pick and print the orientation of the controller frame. A flat orientation will result in more steps, but great controller port circles. The vertical orientation will result in worse circles, but a great face

- Assemble the above parts by press-fit

The outer frame has been created for magnets with a height of 4.6mm. Use the custom .f3d Fusion360 file to adjust the top of the frame stl to your liking to fit your own custom magnets. You can create the perfect amount of gap for your Steam Machine fans by adding a few millimeters more than the height of your magnet to close the gap. You can also remove a few millimeters to widen the gap, but your magnets will more likely to be visible from an angle.

As I am writing this, it seems there are issues with makerworld's parametric model maker fusion360 integration. You can use your slicer's cut feature on the Custom Frame print profile to achieve similar results. Add 2.2mm to your magnet height. That is where you will use your slivers cut feature.

Enjoy!
