Description

This is a 3 Way Corner for Schedule 40 PVC pipe. It has a friction-fit socket that maintains a strong hold on the pipe under normal use. It may also be glued for a permanent fit that will hold up to just about anything. It is designed with a corner gusset that helps support the elbow if any loads are applied to its members.

This connector is part of the Mattformed Structural PVC Framework, my complete collection of 3D-printable parts for building with PVC pipe. All parts are designed to be strong, easy to assembly, and easy to print with minimal supports. This collection started with the idea of building a super cool fort for my 4 year old son.

Materials

Almost all materials will work. The parts in this collection were designed and tested for use with PETG, which provides good flexibility and weather/water resistance. Different applications may call for different materials, and you can choose just about whatever you'd like for this system.

FAQ

Why are the sockets not circular?

I've chosen to prioritize printing without supports. In order to print dimensionally (and aesthetically) sound circles horizontally, I've used a 30 degree angle on the upper and lower sections of the circle. This doesn't affect the functionality whatsoever, and gives us a much better and dimensionally accurate socket to fit our pipes!

Thank you for checking out my models!

I really appreciate the time you've taken to read this far! I love making detailed designs and working with people to bring their ideas alive. If you'd like to support my work, leave me a comment and a photo of your print! I love seeing how these prints come to life. If you want to help me buy some filament for future projects, feel free to give me a boost!
