Description
3U - 5inch speaker/subwoofer enclosure for 10inch rack
![]() | ![]() |
This is a closed speaker enclosure for a 5inch speaker/subwoofer, made to fit in 3U space of a 10inch mini-rack.
- The print profile makes it almost 100% infill for rigidity (lots of walls loops), but it takes a lot of plastic…
- The cover is thick and has internal 100% infill “ribs” to make it more solid. My first one was too flimsy, vibrated a lot and didn't do it
- The box and cover have TPU for AMS built-in gaskets to help the seal (plates without the gaskets are also in the profile)
- It uses M4 heat-set inserts to fix the cover to the box to have a proper seal and be able to squeeze the gaskets together
- There's 2 grilles : a rounded one and a flat one. The flat one is made using infill and 0 top/bottoms so it's easily customizable
Required Material:
- 6x M4x6x6 heat-set inserts
- 6x M4 screws for the cover
- 4x M3 screws for the speaker
- 2x M3 self tapping screws for the terminal binding post
- 5inch speaker. I used this one
- Wires for the speaker
- Connectors (if you want to make things clean)
- 1x Speaker box terminal binding post
- Stuffing to put inside the box. Not mandatory but its supposed to help
The 10 inch rack in the picture is from The [YaMR] Project, a modular 10 inch rack with lots of options / accessories.
