Description

Hello Guys.

 

This is a travel ukulele I made based on Circuits and Strings's design. There is a template (for wood working) available on his website. However he didn't provided exact dimenation for it, so I have to do some improvise of my own so that it can be easily 3d-printed on a 256*256mm plate.

 

Important: print it with at least 50% infill. The tension of the strings can deform the parts if they are not strong enough.

 

Things you need beside the 3d-printed parts:

  1. ukulele strings
  2. some 1.75mm filament
  3. 4 ukulele tuning pegs
  4. a 246.5mm D=8mm rod(cut from a 300mm carbon fiber rod)
  5. a 90mm D=8mm rod (carbon fiber or steel will do)
  6. a 6.35 mm endpin jack (optional)
  7. a piezo under sattel pickup (optional)
  8. 2 guitar strap buttons

A BOM and a build guide can be found down below. Original .stl and .step files are also included if you want to modify it yourself.

Update V1.1:

  1. fixed a support error that may cause connector part failure. (thanks! @JakeRad)
  2. comfort improvement: added fillet to upper face of the main body to match the fillet of the fingerboard.
  3. added mounting holes for tuning peg screws at 21mm distance.
  4. added set holes for the ukulele strings so that the knots won't scratch your skin.

     Notice:

  • the prior @dlovelady in the comment mentioned shape problem of the fingerboard is not yet solved, as I'm still working on it. However this problem have no impact on function and performance. 
  • the item links provided in the BOM are for examples only, similar products will also work. 
  • Please use the newer V1.1 print setting from now on.
