----- Model Info and Details -----
There’s something a bit magical about a tiny door tucked against the skirting board. This one was born in our little Folk and Forge workshop. It’s an, openable Elf and Fairy Door that lets you customise the inside scene, add your own colours to the frame, and finish it off with a filament hinge that works far better than it has any right to. We have two versions of the door available
The surround is designed so you can decorate it with whatever scraps of filament you’ve got lying around. No AMS needed, just a splash of imagination or a rummage through your leftover spools. Inside, you can keep the blank panel as it is or cut out your own photo scene to make it feel properly magical.
Below are the full building instructions, there are also downloadable instructions
How to Build Your Elf / Fairy Door
1. Door Frame Filament
On either side of the frame you’ll find small holes leading into the groove. Feed a length of filament into one hole, run it through the channel, then trim it slightly longer than needed and slot the other end into the opposite hole. Press it down and you’ll have a neat, colourful surround that sits flush against the frame.

2. Door Hinge
There’s a hinge hole at the bottom of the print that takes standard filament. Pop the door in place, then feed the filament through the hinge hole. If it snags, give it a twist or straighten the filament a bit. Once it passes all the way through, trim the excess and the door will swing freely.

3. Inside Scene
The inside back panel can stay blank, or you can use it as a template to cut out your own photo or artwork for a more personalised scene.

If you print one, I’d love to see how you finish yours off. Always keen to see what other makers do with these little details.
