Glad you're here, hope this model works for you!

Plastic Wrap Box for Costco Kirkland food wrap

The cardboard box that holds the Costco Kirkland Signature plastic food wrap (pellicule) is fine.  But I have a 3D printer, so…

The box is made to fit the Costco brand plastic food wrap as that’s what I use.  It may be suitable for other brands.  The interior dimensions are 321mm (12-5/8”) L x 66mm (2-9/16”) W x 68mm (2-5/8”) T.  The nice part is the slot for the film is thin / narrow, so the wrap doesn’t slide back down into the box like it does with the cardboard.  And of course, the plastic is much more durable than the cardboard.

Since the box is bigger than my P1S, it is divided into pieces.

The tolerances are tight and you’ll need some CA glue to put it together.  I recommend applying the glue to the inside portion of the box, on the slot side and not the tab.  Use accelerator (but be quick) to avoid whitening of the material from CA off-gassing.  For the lid I recommend you get the joining rails started on both sides then apply a light amount of CA as not to push excess out when sliding the lid pieces together.  The hinge is 50mm long and I used a M3 x 40mm socket head bolt.

You’ll need the cutter that comes with a fresh box of food wrap.  Just apply it as you would to the cardboard box.  *I’m working on making a second lid with its own cutter implemented into it, as well as a parchment paper box.  I’ll post those when available.

I used Bambu Matte PLA Navy.

Please leave a comment, feedback, suggestions, or even a boost if you're feeling generous.  It does help me improve my models and really makes my day.  Be kind, I’m old and still sort of new at this.  Seriously, thank you for printing my models!

Before you go, if you’d take a look at my other models under my profile I’d appreciate it: GrayGav @JGray_3D
