Description
Description This is a highly detailed Moon Relief Lamp, designed from scratch using official NASA elevation maps for geological accuracy.
Design & Structure The housing is designed in two parts:
- Main Body: Holds the LED strips and the moon surface.
- Back Cover: Fits securely into the main body to enclose the electronics.
- Tolerances: The parts are designed with a 0.1mm tolerance. This resulted in a perfect fit on my Bambu Lab P1S, ensuring a clean assembly without loose parts.
Materials Used
- Frame: Bambu Lab PLA Matte Black.
- Moon Surface: PETG Glow in the Dark (White to Blue).
Lighting Setup The lamp features a dual-lighting system (8mm strips):
- Rear Layer (UV): A UV LED strip is placed behind the surface. This charges the glow-in-the-dark filament, improves color saturation, and enhances texture depth.
- Front Layer (White): A Neutral White COB LED strip sits in the front channel for main illumination.
Assembly
- Wiring: Integrated cable channels allow you to run wires from the bottom to the top section to connect both strips in parallel.
- Power: Designed to fit a standard 12V Female DC Jack.
