Description

– Remix of goblinhours FAMAS style top rail for the Xshot Longshot (https://www.printables.com/model/1360945-x-shot-longshot-famas-style-handleriser) –

After wanting to print the FAMAS handle by NitrEX4 and realising that there was no A1 Mini profile, I kept looking and found this one on Printables. I reoriented everything to fit it on a single A1 Mini plate. Unsure how the print direction has effected the strength but my build feels solid. Feel free to suggest any changes that might improve the print.

I printed at 0.08mm, 4 wall loops, gyroid infill. The joining gap on print came out rough so i would suggest trying some supports, however my rough print didn't effect the build at all, just took some clean up.

Original Post from goblinhours:

"I got the degenerate version of the Longshot recently and have been meaning to turn it into a FAMAS ever since.

There's some perfectly fine, well designed handles out there already but I wanted the practice and it ended up only taking an evening to knock out a shockingly decent attachment, so I figured I'd share.

Print the front and rear halves, they're already oriented for an extremely easy print. Print the rail and 2 pins, slide the front on, slide one half on, pop the rail in so the holes line up and shove in a pin, whack on the other half and knock in a pin.

The handle is intended to be held on with M5 gear or the printable attachment pins.

If you print it I'd love to see your makes and what else this dumb thing fits on, it's a teensy bit long for anything else I own.

Print settings probably don't matter all that much, I threw defaults at it in testing, I could see a few extra walls being a good idea if you're going to actually carry it with the handle. The rear half benefits from supporting the end of picatinny dovetail but my printer managed it in testing."
