Description

This 80mm Suspending Jerkbait Minnow is a mid-diving artificial lure designed for sharp jerk/twitch rod movements, producing an erratic and enticing swimming pattern. Its body shape and hydrodynamics follow the style of well-known premium jerkbaits, delivering crisp side-slashes and a natural suspending pause.

Built with a full-length 0.9mm stainless steel wire, the lure provides strong structural integrity from line-tie to hook anchors. Internal cavities accommodate 3x steel balls (Ø4mm) as ballast, ensuring proper center of gravity for a true suspending action after finishing.

This version is engineered specifically for printing in ABS, giving the correct density for the intended neutral buoyancy and offering better mechanical resistance compared to PLA or PETG.

To allow customization, the model includes flat side panels designed for applying holographic/reflective adhesive, and a template/ruler is included to help shape the stickers precisely.

Final Target Weight (Suspending):
~7g total (including hooks, wire, ballast, paint, epoxy, stickers)

Recommended Hook Setup:

  • Middle treble: VMC #6
  • Rear treble: VMC #8

Print Recommendations:

  • Material: ABS (strongly recommended due to density and durability)
  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm
  • Perimeters: 2–3
  • Infill: Adjust to reach the ~7g target after full assembly
  • Supports: Only if required depending on orientation
  • Assembly:
    • Insert the 0.9mm wire-through frame
    • Add 3x Ø4mm steel balls as ballast
    • Seal halves with superglue + baking soda
    • Apply holographic stickers using the included template
    • Finish with 2 coats of low-viscosity epoxy
