This item has two ways to play. One is to apply ink to the plate, then cover it with paper and rub it off. The petroglyph orientation in the file is mirrored, so the image rubbed using this method will be correct.

Another way to play is to mirror the pattern to a normal orientation, lay paper on the rubbing plate, and then use a pencil or crayon to rub over it. This method doesn't produce as good a result as the first, but it's simpler.
