This model gearbox is a great way to fidget and better understand how gear ratios work.
This gear ratio is roughly 1:243. For every time the first gear spins, the final gear will spin 243 times! Interestingly, the slowest gear has a lot of torque and requires more effort to slow down, but the fastest gear has less torque and is effortless to stop.
You'll see that there is a hand crank, but you may also use your fingers to move the gears.
Assembly Steps:
- Insert the handle into the hole near the top and connect it with the small gear.
- Insert the screws
- Slide the spacers and 5 gears onto the screw(see below)
- Put the nut on the end of the screw that is sticking out
