Description

We’ve decided to open up our lamp designs to the maker community and allow anyone to print one!  

The Cumulis lamp has been a customer favourite at Dryft Home thanks to its soft, rounded silhouette and pleated texture — and now you can make your own version at home. If you can't print one yourself and you're in Canada or USA, consider supporting us at https://www.dryfthome.com.

 

Inspired by towering cumulus clouds, the Cumulis shade creates a warm, gentle glow that works beautifully on a desk, side table, or bedside stand. It’s a fully 3D-printed design and you can pair it with either of our two modern lamp bases: the minimalist Peak base or the ribbed Ridge base.

 

For the best results, follow the Orca Slicer settings below. We’ve also included Bambu Studio 3MF files to make printing easier — they haven’t been fully tested, so please check your settings before printing. In Bambu Studio you need to implement scarf seams in filament settings if you are using a different filament for the bases.

For the 40mm lock washer, print in flexible filament. We use 95A TPU, 10% infill, 1 wall loop, 3 upper and 3 lower walls.

Assembly

To assemble the lamp, you’ll need a cord. We recommend a cord about 6 ft long with an inline rocker switch about 1.5–2 ft from the socket. The socket must be 40mm wide with a threaded base, as shown in the photos. We normally use a cord with an E26 standard bulb base and a US/CA plug. Use LED bulbs only to avoid heat buildup — 9W or less recommended.

Pendant Alternative

The Cumulis shade also works beautifully as a pendant light. You’ll need a pendant cord with a 40mm threaded E26 socket and a ceiling canopy. These are widely available online, but if you’d like the exact one we use, you can find it here:
