Description

This special airbag bumper was designed with controlled deformation on impact in mind. The new and more complex gimbal of the Neo 2 should be slowed down more gradually. To achieve this, I designed this gimbal protector to absorb the impact energy over a short time, similar to how an airbag works in a car.

The deformation changes the shape of the second plastic ring and takes away some of the impact energy. Please print it in PLA because the calculations are made for its stiffness.

You should print several pieces because the bumper is made to snap after a heavy crash on one side, which helps deflect some of the impact energy toward the original bumpers on the sides.

Print in PLA and use the print profile because the printing direction is important.
