Description
Following the bearing breakage (a common issue for many with this stand mixer model), I decided to design and print this protective disc which prevents dough from rising up and is easy to put on and remove.
I have included two print profiles, one with a 3mm disc and one with a 2mm disc, because not all accessories (especially the dough hook) fit with the 3mm one.
I would like to add instructions for the correct use of the disc:
3D printed items are sensitive to extreme heat, so no dishwashers or similar.
It can be washed, but without aggressive chemical agents and should be dried immediately.
Due to the structure of 3D printing, the parts are porous and could accumulate dirt.
For this reason, the disc was not designed as a “dough pusher” but as a last safeguard before the bearing touches the dough. If large dough batches are made and you are certain the dough will touch the disc, it is recommended to cover the disc with food wrap, ensuring 100% hygiene.
