Star Trek TOS Communicator w/Fuzzy Skin

This is my remix of UnimatrixReds excellent Star Trek The Original Series Communicator. I made several changes to make it look much more like the original prop and much easier to build at the same time.

First I used the new Fuzzy Skin feature to make it look like the rough texture on the original prop. I also rebuilt the speaker grill and morie pattern from scratch to look much nicer.

For easy of building I made the assembly pegs round and increased the depth of all the buttons and controls so they will pressure fit without needing glue. That said, a drop of superglue in the holes (especially the colored buttons) would make sure they never get loose.

Filaments are Black (Matte or Gloss) for the body. Silver for trim and controls (I used GiantArm silk). Gold (or copper) for the screen. And the buttons can be silver+ any three colors. Most common are red, blue, green. You can also do all silver and paint the gems. 

Printing is best with an AMS, but you can print most of it one color per plate.  There is a spare mic grill in case the quality isn't great on one.

Assembly is easy. Just press all the parts together as shown in the diagram below. Make sure to push the pegs into the bottom first, if you put them in the top first they can punch through if you are not careful.

NOTE. I made the tolerances really tight to make it fit without glue. Maybe too tight!. Let me know if anything doesn't fit with some gentle pressure.
