Description

Universal 400 Series Coax Clamp — 0.405 inch ID (10.3 mm)

This U style coax clamp is designed specifically for KMR400, but it is intentionally sized to fit the entire family of 0.400 class low loss coaxial cables.

The inner diameter is modeled at 0.405 inch (about 10.3 millimeters). After normal print shrink, it settles very close to 0.400 inch (about 10.2 millimeters), giving the right amount of grip on the jacket without crushing it. This makes it ideal for RF and ham radio feed-line.

Compatible Coax Types:

All coax listed below commonly measures between 0.400 and 0.405 inch outer diameter (10.0 to 10.3 millimeters):

  • KMR400
  • LMR400 (standard, direct bury, and most variants)
  • CNT400 and other 400 series low loss cables
  • RG213/U
  • Low loss RG8/U and Belden 9913 style cables
  • 7DFB and other 10 millimeter class low loss cables

These cables are often marketed as direct physical equivalents. This clamp matches that shared size standard.

Fit Notes:

  • Older classic RG8 types can measure closer to 0.430 inch (about 11 millimeters) and will not fit with out scaling.
  • Cables around 0.385 to 0.395 inch OD (9.8 to 10.0 millimeters) will still clamp securely due to material flex, but with slightly less tension.
  • Materials with higher shrink may tighten the internal diameter by an additional small amount. Scaling the X and Y axes may be helpful if an exact fit is needed for a specific cable.

Screw Requirements:

This clamp is designed for Number 10 pan head or truss head screws.
Do not use tapered or wood style screws. Tapered screws can wedge into the clamp arms and cause cracking or long term stress damage. Pan or truss head screws provide full surface support and the correct clamping force.

General Design Notes:

  • Smooth interior radius prevents jacket scuffing.
  • Strong enough for both indoor and outdoor feed-line management.
  • Suitable for securing coax to masts, walls, enclosures, or equipment racks.
  • Printed walls and geometry are optimized for common materials such as PPS-xF, PA612-xF, PETG, and any strong and suited for the environment you will use it in.

Intended Use:

This clamp is well suited for:

  • Ham radio feed-lines.
  • LMR400, KMR400, RG8/U runs.
  • Antenna mast routing.
  • Outdoor cabinet and equipment feed-through management.
  • Scanner feed-lines.
  • Any build that requires a solid hold on 0.400 inch coax cable.
