Boost Me (for free)

Hi there! If you have a spare boost, I’d be so grateful for your support. While bigger creators often get lots of attention, boosting smaller creators like me truly makes a big difference. Your boost would help me keep sharing unique, niche models for everyone to enjoy. Thank you so much for considering it—it means the world! 🙏💖

This is a 3D-printable version of my 35-40 mm coin vise designed for perfect 2-sided coin milling on all Makera Carvera CNC Machines ONLY.
It’s based on the aluminum version I machined for my channel, but adapted so makers can print and use it right away.

The vise securely holds a 35-40 mm coin blank and works with edge clamps that can be found here GabrielMaker CNC Edge Clamps

Bed registration features ensure both sides of your coin line up accurately with no shifting.

🔧 Printing Notes

  • PLA works, but only if you make sure that your endmills aren't getting too hot.
  • Keep the vise away from spindle heat, bit heat
  • Use my print profile for best settings

A 3D-printed vise is surprisingly effective for coin milling as long as heat is controlled. If your CNC environment stays cool and the cuts are light, it performs extremely well.

🪙 Features

  • Fits 35-40 mm coin blanks
  • Accurate for 2-sided milling
  • Bolt holes for clamping to CNC bed
  • Pocketed clamping jaws for secure grip

In the documentation section I added a ZIP folder containing all example file including:

  1. STEP FILE
  2. STL EXAMPLE COIN FILE
  3. STL 40mm COIN BLANK
  4. WASTEBOARD FILE
  5. DRAWING OF VISE IN SVG FORMAT

🎥 Video Build

A full machining walkthrough (aluminum and coin demo) is available on my YouTube channel: Gabriel Maker.

Hi! I'm having trouble importing the step file into makeracam. Did you use another program to generate the tool paths?

I just got a Carvera Air and want to make this my 1st project. Looks great. Not sure how to get it into Aspire or MakeraCam to make the aluminium version. Be grateful for any pointers, ta Danny
