Description

This is a minimalist motor mount (Flipsky 6384/6374 motor) for a DIY foil drive / foil assist. I modeled a mast mount insert for the red Axis 19mm mast and a generic AliExpress kite foil. If you want to make your own mast mount insert, included is a blank insert that you can use to Boolean (subtract) your own foil mast but you'll have to model it yourself.

Uses 4mm x 15mm stainless steel bolts to mount, bolt pattern is 30mm x 30mm.

The hatch area has a spot for a 3mm hotmelt insert that can be used to screw it in place but I just use a piece of tape to hold it in place. The hatch may need a bit of sanding to make it fit.

I'd recommend printing the motor mount in a tough filament like PLA+, PETG, ASA, etc. The area around the pins add a modifier and make it 100% infill for max strength. Perimeters use 6 or more, the more you use the stronger it will be but the heavier the mount will be of course.

The TPU insert I'd recommend printing in 85A, I tried 95A but it wasn't grippy enough. 85A grips well but if you only have 95A you could coat the mating surface with a liquid rubber like FlexSeal or liquid electrical tape.

The TPU strap works very well, I was surprised, 85A is the best to use as it's super stretchy but higher hardness ones work fine too but as mentioned they aren't as grippy and don't stretch as much. Trim if needed. The TPU nose inserts are optional but could be used if you want some extra grip.

STEP files are included if you want to modify any of the files to work for you.
