The object shown is a small, intricately designed “insect stone hotel,” perfect for terrariums or as a decorative element in a planted terrarium. It consists of a rock-like structure with several levels connected by a winding staircase. On the different levels, there are small round openings and chambers that look like entrances to miniature caves – ideal hiding places for small terrarium inhabitants or ornamental insects.
On top are several conical towers with shingled roofs, reminiscent of a tiny fantasy building, like a castle or a dwarf house in a rock. The entire surface is kept in a natural, grayish-brown color that resembles stone and blends harmoniously into a planted environment.
This insect hotel is not functional in the biological sense (i.e., not specifically intended for wild bees or beneficial insects in the garden), but rather decorative. However, it can be excellently used in a terrarium or fairy/forest landscape arrangement to create a magical miniature world. In a planted glass container or moss terrarium, it adds depth, structure, and a touch of fantasy to the arrangement.
