Model Information:
The Molineux Stadium [pronounced: Molin-juh] in Wolverhampton, England, is the traditional home of the Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) and a stadium of great historical significance for English football.
- Home Team: It has been the home ground of the Wolves since 1889, making it one of England's oldest football stadiums still actively used by a professional club.
- Historical Innovation (Floodlights): Molineux was one of the first stadiums in Great Britain to install floodlights (1953). This enabled the famous "floodlight friendly matches" in the 1950s against top teams like Honvéd Budapest, which significantly contributed to the creation of the European Cup (now Champions League).
- Architecture: The stadium was extensively modernized in the early 1990s and converted into an all-seater stadium. It is known for its distinctive gold and black color scheme.
- Stands: The stands are named after club legends, including the large Steve Bull Stand and the traditional "home" stand, the Sir Jack Hayward Stand (formerly South Bank).
