Description
Created by taking a 3D scan of an Xbox Series controller, making it wider, and adding a custom holder in the middle for the Thor.
- It provides a much more comfortable grip for longer gaming sessions compared to the stock handheld.
- Holds the Thor pretty securely, as long as you don't flip it upside down.
- All buttons, triggers, and ports remain fully accessible.
- I left the "fake" triggers from the original Xbox controller scan in place. They serve as a comfortable place to rest your index fingers when playing games that don't use the Thor's triggers.
- Probably not as nice as the one from AYN directly, but I don't have it so I'm not sure.
I'll be honest, this isn't an amazing, perfectly smooth model, it's a bit of a janky Tinkercad monstrosity. However, it's 100% functional, holds the Thor securely, and makes it much more comfortable to use.
Printing Recommendations:
- The included .3mf file is set up for an A1 mini, which I used for several successful test prints.
- The model shown in the photos was printed on a P1S.
- I printed mine with a .08mm layer height for a nice smooth finish and better overhangs. This is definitely not required, and a larger layer height will work fine, but it was my preference for quality.
- I printed mine in PLA, and it works just fine. I'm sure it would feel even nicer if printed in TPU.
- To get a more secure print, I opted to sink the model just a tiny bit into the build plate in my slicer. Your mileage may vary, but it worked well for me.
