Minimalist Poster Rail 42 cm – for A2 portrait or A3 landscape

I wanted an extremely minimalist poster rail, without visible eyelets and without unnecessary hinges. The integrated magnets reliably hold the poster – a simple hole in the back bar is sufficient for hanging.

Material & Print Notes
Printing works very well in PLA. The tolerances – especially at the tongue-and-groove joint – are deliberately tight. The parts must be pressed firmly together and then tapped straight into place.

Magnets
Round magnets 5 × 2 mm are required.

Cord

Any cord that fits through the holes, i.e., max 1-1.5mm diameter. Length according to preference.

Included Parts
A total of 8 parts are included in the print profile.
Each 2 parts form a rail (there are rails with holes and rails without holes).

  • For one poster, you need at least the upper pair of rails, of which one rail has holes.
  • The lower pair of rails serves as a weight so that the poster hangs flat and compensates for slight air movements.

I deliberately created two rails with a hole:
This allows you to optionally hang two posters with one print – or you can use the second pair at the bottom (here the hole is unused, but also invisible because it's behind the poster) to improve the weighting of the poster (recommended).
