Boost Me (for free)

A small boost for you, a big one for my project!

The Shelly BLU Motion is a motion detector originally designed for indoor use and therefore not waterproof. However, since it is designed for temperatures between –20 °C and +40 °C, it can be easily used in a protected outdoor environment

To be able to use the motion detector even in less protected outdoor areas, I designed a small protective roof. This protects the Shelly from rainwater without restricting the sensor's detection range

Filament

For outdoor use, it is important to choose a filament that is UV-resistant, weather-stable, and temperature-resistant, so that it does not become brittle or deform due to sunlight, rain, or temperature fluctuations. ASA is considered the best choice as it offers excellent UV resistance (no yellowing or embrittlement), high weather stability, good mechanical strength, and high temperature resistance

Alternatively, PETG can also be used – with slight compromises in UV resistance. PETG-CF is recommended here, as it has the highest mechanical strength and best weather resistance among PETG variants
