Description
Ring Doorbell 45° Wall Mount (2nd Generation)
This 45° angle wall mount is designed specifically for the Ring Doorbell 2nd Generation, allowing you to tilt the doorbell left or right for improved motion detection, better viewing angles, or to avoid light reflections from walls or windows at night.
Key Features:
- Fixed 45° Angle: this design provides a precise 45° tilt for a clean, sturdy installation.
- New Mounting Holes: To maintain a clean look and ensure reversibility, this mount requires two new holes in the wall, spaced 86.5 mm apart (matching the existing spacing between the top and bottom holes of the original mount). The original holes are left unused, so you can easily revert to the stock configuration if needed.
- Compatibility: Fits the Ring Doorbell 2nd Generation mounting plate, using 4 M4 threaded inserts to secure the original plate to the mount with 4 M4 x 8mm screws.
- Material Recommendations: Print in PETG (recommended for outdoor durability). Ensure your filament is dry and your printer is calibrated for best results.
- Structural Reinforcement: Designed with 2 walls and 15% gyroid infill for strength, ensuring screws bite securely and allowing for adjustments if needed.
Installation:
- Wall Preparation:
- Use the mount as a template to mark the two new hole locations (86.5 mm apart).
- Drill holes appropriate for your wall type (e.g., anchors for masonry or direct screws for wood).
- Mount the Bracket:
- Secure the 3D-printed bracket to the wall using suitable screws or anchors.
- Attach the Ring Plate:
- Fasten the original Ring mounting plate to the bracket using the 4 M4 x 8mm screws and threaded inserts.
- Final Assembly:
- Snap the Ring Doorbell onto the mounted plate as per Ring’s instructions.
Notes:
- This design is specific to the Ring Doorbell 2nd Generation. The hole spacing and geometry ensure a snug fit without gaps or warping.
- Use flat-head screws to avoid interference with the doorbell’s attachment mechanism.
- If you ever want to remove the mount, simply patch the two new holes and reuse the original mounting setup.
Printing Tips:
- No Supports Needed: The model is designed to print without supports.
- Test Fit: Verify the doorbell snaps onto the plate securely before final installation.
- Even Stronger : You can increase to 3 walls for even better strength or use PETG-CF filament.
Why This Design?
- Reversibility: By avoiding the original holes, you can easily return to the stock setup.
- Clean Aesthetics: Original holes remain hidden for a seamless look.
- Durability: Threaded inserts and M4 screws ensure a robust, long-lasting mount.
