This is a printable version of the Hirochi Sunburst from BeamNG.drive, more beamNG related projects can be found here.
This is a special variant of the Hirochi sunburst toy car - 100% 3D printed, featuring:
- A sedan widebody with hood scoop
- Alternative style foglights and bumper meshgrille
- A spoiler
- Alternative style wheels
- A rear bumper trim
- A double exhaust
This model can be used as a toy or display piece for fans of the game , if assembled correctly it should be quite robust and the wheels should spin smoothly.
I have not made detailed intructions, but i do have a few tips to ensure a good result:
- When printing the main body in PLA, consider turning your aux fan (if you have one) or even all fans off for at least the first 3-5 layers, this will prevent warping making the seam between the body pieces nearly invisible (these settings must be changed in your filament profile under the “cooling” tab and are not included with the print profile).
- A smooth PEI plate is recommended for the main body to reduce seam visibility.
- The alignment pins (filename “sunburstsport_pin”) are optional and meant to help with the alignment of the 2 body pieces, you can try both with and without the pins before you glue the parts together to see if they have any effect.
- I do not recommend using (permanent) glue for the mirrors, they are somewhat fragile and are meant to be replaceable.
- The left reverselight (filename “sunburstsport_reverselight_left”) can alternatively be printed in red to resemble a foglight, effectively changing the model from US to EU market as seen in-game.
- If you aren't satisfied with how the headlights and blinkers fit together, there are alternative headlight pieces included that have no cutouts for blinkers (filename “sunburstsport_headlight_left_SIMPLIFIED” and “sunburstsport_headlight_right_SIMPLIFIED”).
- The spoiler is somewhat fragile, making support removal challenging, consider using support interface material.
