Description
Murugan Vel (Hindu Spear) for Dummy 13 in the style that is typically wielded by Lord Murugan (Kartikeya) who is the Hindu God of War and generally described as the son of Shiva and Parvati.
The front of Murugan’s vel (spear) tapers to a sharp, elongated leaf-shaped point, symbolizing divine knowledge and victory over ignorance. The spear itself requires supports to print. The back of the spear has the sacred word Om (ௐ) written in Tamil Script.
The three streaks of white (printed separately) symbolize the tirunīru pattai typically applied on the forehead by Hindus as vibhuti (sacred ash) with a red dot (kumkum) in the center. The pattai can be attached to the spear without glue but please be careful and gentle when applying pressure as the model is delicate.
To safely attach the pattai to the vel, hold the spear upright between your thumb and forefinger with your forefinger supporting the back of the spearhead and thumb at the front. Place the pattai in the center and press gently until it fits securely into place.
