If you like my models a boost would be greatly appreciated! :)

Info

An external optical drive bay because no modern case has an internal one :). Usefull if you want a cheap BluRay drive that you can connect to different devices.

You'll need a sata to usb adapter to be able to connect it with a usb. The one I use is the Vantec CB-ST00U3. If you use a different adapter you might need to change the size of the hole at the back. The spacing is quite generous so it'll likely not be a problem.

Also has a stackable version with 2.5mm clearance between units for the screw heads securing the optical drive to the case.

Printing

Printable with any filament, I used PLA.
Print without supports standing up from the back face.

Size

Width: 153mm
Height: 53mm
Depth: 208mm

If you have a slightly longer optical drive there's also a version with extra clearance for longer drives.
Normal version max drive length: 171mm
Extra clearance max drive length: 181mm

Hardware

  • 4x M3 x 8mm screw
  • Vantec CB-ST00U3 (or other adapter)
