Wavy Facade Planters – Japanese Parametric Design
A collection of eight architectural planters inspired by Japanese aesthetics and parametric geometry. Each model features elegant wavy surfaces and rhythmic ridges that blend organic flow with structural balance.
Models 1 and 2 share the same shape — #1 has around 300 ribs, while #2 has under 200. Similarly, #6 and #8 are the same design, with #6 being less dense.
Each planter includes a special insert with small holes, designed for a self-watering setup. You can add a cotton or nylon rope through the holes, allowing the soil to draw water naturally from the bottom reservoir — keeping the plants hydrated longer without overwatering.
Print settings:
Global:
- Outer wall: 0.45 mm
- Avoid crossing wall: ON
- Wall loops: 3
- Bottom shell layers: 5
Insert:
- Seam position: Back
- Outer wall speed: 120 mm/s
For best results, print in matte or textured PLA to highlight the flowing geometry and architectural details.
